0 km · pergola, terraces, olive grove
Garden, pergola and terraces over the valley.
Around the house is a fenced, terraced garden with olive trees, oleanders and fruit trees. Under the vine pergola there is a table for eating outdoors; the patio has sun loungers and deckchairs.
From the terraces you see the valley running down to Imperia and, beyond it, the sea.

When to come
June – September
Sea in the morning, dinner under the pergola. In late June Oneglia celebrates the Feast of San Giovanni, with music, dancing, market stalls and fireworks over the harbour. In August there is the Notte Bianca in Porto Maurizio; between late August and September, every other year, the Vele d’Epoca brings a week of classic sailing-boat regattas, with fireworks.
October – November
The All Saints’ long weekend is one of our busiest times. The olive harvest begins, and in early November Oneglia hosts Olioliva, the festival of the new olive oil.
December – February
Christmas and New Year in the warm, with the house’s own heating. In February the Sanremo Festival is half an hour away.
March – May
Walks among the olives and the seaside cycle path. The days get longer and lunch moves back outdoors.
A10 motorway · Imperia Ovest exit
Getting here: always from above.
Your satnav may warn you about a pedestrian zone. It isn’t one, so confirm and carry on. But if you follow its route to the end you may find yourself facing a very steep climb. This is the easy way, and it reaches the gate downhill.
Leave the A10 at Imperia Ovest and go through the toll booth.
At the roundabout on Via Maurizio Caprile, take the first exit.
Straight after, take the first right into Via Tommaso Littardi.
Follow Google Maps until it tells you to turn right to stay on Strada Coppi Rossi.
From there the road goes downhill: pass a couple of houses and you reach the gate.
The gate is black, with the number 7, just after a gentle bend to the right. Sound your horn and Laura will open it.
